Moovy Inc. (Moovy - Moving Services)
The undersigned customer hereby engages Moovy (the "Carrier") to provide transportation and related services as described herein, in compliance with the applicable Conditions of Carriage Regulations, Warehouse and Storage Acts, and the Consumer Protection Act.
1. Service Agreement
By using Moovy's services, you agree to comply with the Conditions of Carriage Regulations, Warehouse and Storage Acts, and the Consumer Protection Act.
2. Payment Terms
● Total Payment: Due upon delivery via cash, email money transfer, check, or credit card.
● Credit Card Payments: An additional charge of 3% applies.
● Additional Costs: You are responsible for any parking fees or tickets incurred by our vehicle during the service period.
● Final Price: Depends on actual labor time, elevator access, and road traffic on the day of the move. There are no additional charges beyond this.
3. Minimum Charges and Billing Increments
● Minimum Charge: 3 hours.
● Billing Increments: After the minimum time, billing is in 15-minute increments. For example, if the move takes 3 hours and 15 minutes, you will be billed for 3 hours and 15 minutes.
4. Service Rates and Fees
● Hourly Rate: Applies to labor for moving, packing, dismantling, and reassembling.
● Truck Fee: A one-time flat payment based on the distance from our storage to the pick-up and drop-off locations. This fee covers fuel and maintenance and will be discussed and agreed upon separately during a call.
● Tax: A 13% tax is applied to the total cost of moving services.
5. Insurance and Liability
● Basic Insurance: Included, covering $0.60 per pound per item.
● Upgraded Protection Plan: Available, covering up to $5 per pound per item.
● Liability: Moovy is not liable for damages to items not properly packed or labeled by you.
6. Customer Responsibilities
● Packing and Labeling: Ensure all items are packed and labeled appropriately.
● Checklist: Prepare a moving checklist to ensure all items are accounted for.
● Information: Provide accurate information about the size of your home or condo, the quantity of items, and any special requirements or challenges. Inaccurate or incomplete information can affect the duration and cost of the move.
7. Access and Accessibility
● Truck Access: Ensure the moving truck has unobstructed access to both pick-up and drop-off locations. Communicate any restrictions or special instructions to Moovy prior to the move.
8. Delays and Unforeseen Circumstances
● Responsibility: Moovy is not responsible for delays due to severe weather, traffic congestion, or other unforeseen events. We will make reasonable efforts to complete the move as scheduled but do not guarantee specific delivery times.
9. Property Protection
● Precautions: We will take reasonable precautions to protect floors, walls, and other property during the moving process. Ensure the path of movement is clear of obstacles and adequately protected.
10. Customer Cancellation or No-Show
● Cancellation Fee: If you cancel the move within 24 hours of the scheduled start time or are not present at the agreed-upon time, a cancellation fee of $150 will apply to cover the cost of labor and scheduling.
11. Moving Day Procedures
● Presence Required: On the day of the move, you or a representative must be present to supervise and provide instructions. Moovy is not responsible for any missed items or instructions if no one is available to oversee the move.
12. Complaints and Claims
● Reporting: Report any complaints or claims regarding the service to Moovy within 24 hours of the completion of the move to allow us to address and resolve issues promptly.
13. Acceptance of Work
● Completion: By engaging our services, you acknowledge that you accept the completed work as properly and satisfactorily completed. Any issues or damages must be reported to Moovy within 24 hours of the completion of the move.
14. Moving Boxes
● Box Provision: Moovy does not provide moving boxes. However, we offer the following boxes for purchase separately:some text
● Small Box (18x12, 1.5 ft³): $2.50 each
● Medium Box (23x15, 3 ft³): $4.50 each
● Large Box (27x16, 4.5 ft³): $6.50 each
● Wardrobe Box (Rental): $15 each
15. Changes to Terms and Conditions
● Modifications: Moovy reserves the right to modify these terms and conditions at any time. Changes will be communicated to you in writing prior to the move date.
16. Governing Law
● Jurisdiction: These terms and conditions are governed by the laws of Ontario, Canada.
